York Technical College's 2013 World of Work (WOW) Speaker Series

ROCK HILLóThe Business and Information Technology departments are sponsoring the 2013 World of Work (WOW) Speaker Series. The theme for this yearís series is Business Innovation Through Education, Design, and Technology.The WOW Series will be held at various locations on the York Technical College campus.

Product design entrepreneur Chad Lockart will launch the series with a presentation discussing how design can help businesses and product managers grow and prosper. Lockhart strongly believes that innovation thrives when diverse teams collaborate to solve business needs with people centered systems. Lockartís lecture is scheduled for February 6, 2013 at 6:30 pm at the Anne Springs Close Library.

The second lecture in the series will feature Emily Pilloton, founder of the nonprofit design agency Project H Design. Pilloton is also the author of Design Revolution: 100 Products that Empower People and Tell Them I Built This: Transforming Schools, Communities and Lives with Design-Based Education. Pillotonís lecture is scheduled for March 6, 2013 at 6:30 pm at the Hood Center.

The third speaker will be Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., J.D., SPHR, past Chairman of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the largest association devoted to human resource management. Taylor is also President and CEO of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, the only national organization representing the country's 47 Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Taylorís lecture is scheduled for April 22, 2013 at 6:00 pm at the Hood Center.
