York Tech Recognized by the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas
ROCK HILL—York Technical College was recognized recently by the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas at its annual awards banquet as one of its College of the Year sponsors for 2011. York Tech has been a strong supporter of the CBCC since 2004.
Over the years, the college has touched more than 3,000 lives in the community with its blood donation efforts, thanks
to the generous support of students, faculty and staff. The award also
recognizes the hard work of York Technical College Student Activities,
which coordinates blood drives and many other events at the college.
In 2011, York Tech held eight drives, collecting 250 units of blood
and helping 750 people in our region.
The Community Blood Center of the Carolinas is an independent, locally-managed, non-profit community blood center. It is the primary blood supplier to the region's patients and hospitals.
