$400,000 Anonymous Gift to Support Educational Opportunities in Chester

ROCK HILLThe York Technical College Foundation has received an anonymous gift of $400,000 to support improved educational opportunities for the residents of Chester County. The donation will fund the Lewis and Lucia Bell Scholarships as well as facilities and equipment upgrades at the Chester Center of York Technical College, including computers and distance learning classroom technology.

The York Technical College Chester Center offers more than 90 courses in a variety of programs of study, including Administrative Office Technology, Computer Network Operations, Business, Management, Paralegal, Nursing Assistant, EKG Technician, Industrial Maintenance, Welding, University Transfer, Associate in Arts, and more. The Chester Center opened in its new building on Highway 9 just east of the city of Chester in 2009.

Lewis and Lucia Bell Scholarships will be awarded based on merit and/or need to qualified residents from Chester and Fairfield counties furthering their education at York Technical College.
