“We are pleased to have the
opportunity to get students interested in the STEAM fields from an early age by
offering exciting and hands-on summer camps for them to participate in” expressed
Dexter Harlee, an instructor for Information Technology at York Tech. This is
the third year York Tech has offered these enriching summer camps to the
New this year, the
Shakespeare and Software camp,
combines classic English literature and high-tech software. During this camp,
students will study a Shakespearean play and create their own interpretations
of it using facial animation, 3D animation, and cartoons. Students will
interpret Shakespearean language and themes to create and design their own
versions of the play using Crazy Talk and Storytelling Alice.
A returning favorite, the Kodu Game Programming camp, allows students to build several games from
simple to more complex, as the week progresses. Students will learn to plan
roles of objects in an object-oriented game, path generation and motions as
well as programming actions.
